Best Front Porch Plant Ideas in the Winter
Best front porch plant ideas in the winter! After the colorful mums of fall, what should we plant to make our winter planters happy?
This year I wanted to replace my mums with some large purple cabbages. The nursery that I stopped at didn’t have any so I looked for other options.

Usually, I plant beautiful pansies, but I wanted something a little different this year. The sales lady mentioned rosemary as an option and at first I wasn’t really excited. But, then I came back to it and thought this may work. So I got it! I also got a few pansies to mix in with the cute little violas.
When I pulled the mums out, the mini cabbages and kale had really grown. So I moved them around a bit. I planted the rosemary and the burgundy pansies in the middle.
Planters that are planted at a home make it feel so good! This rosemary was a great addition!

Rosemary Tips- Best front porch plant ideas in the winter
Rosemary will tolerate mild winters. I have planted it close to our house as an extra precaution for the cold months. This is a test for us as I usually do not plant rosemary for my winter planting, so we will see!
It is also great for seasoning. Just grab what you need, wash, wash, wash and enjoy this fresh herb on a special dish for the family.
I am also looking forward to the fragrant scent the rosemary will bring to the front door entrance. Especially for Christmas!
Do Pansies And Violas Like The Winter
Pansies and violas do very well through the winter months. Pansies are so rich and beautiful in the colors that they bring. They can brighten up any container they are planted in!
