I have been wanting to write this post for some time now to hopefully help those new moms with furniture worry. I remember stressing out because you need “everything” when you have a baby and most of the time, the furniture needed or that you want is so expensive.

We started our daughter’s nursery with a chest of drawers that was white and had pastel colored knobs. It was so precious! I think we paid $125 for it new. She has had it for many years and has served her very well. We recently updated her room and the chest of drawers got put into our room.

It sat for a while and then I decided to keep it. I really needed some additional storage so I just updated the knobs and it looks amazing!

Mom Tip

If you have furniture that offers storage, don’t get ride of it! You can repurpose it for somewhere else in the home. You never have enough storage space. Trust me!

As our daughter got older, she needed some more storage, so my sister gave me a cube organizer that was her daughter’s. We got some very cute cubes to go into the organizer and she used this for years. No expensive furniture was needed and it looked awesome!

We moved this into my son’s room and he is still using it today. You can put toys in them, hide all kinds of little things that drive you crazy and it looks amazing all cleaned up.

I have also used them in my kids rooms for their clothes! They work so good! I still use them for my sons. We put shorts in one, shirts in one, toys and this and that in the others. I love how you can buy colored cubes to fit the need. His are navy and red!

If you are going to be using these cubes on a daily basis, pulling them in and out, or placing heavy items in them, I suggest you buy some quality ones as mentioned above. If you just need some to fill a cube up with something light and its more for looks, check out the Dollar Tree. They have different designs at different times of the year, but for $1.25, you can’t beat it.

Walmart , Amazon and Lowes Hardware, all carry these amazing organizers. They come in so many varieties. Get creative and you will be so glad you purchased this organizer.

I love the ones that have legs, they really look expensive, but are very affordable.

You can also find these at yard sales or thrift shops. If you find one that needs a little help, these look really good painted a bold color too! Hot pink for example would look really good in a little girls room or a hunter green for a little boys.

Other Places to Use A Cube Organizer In Your Home

The beauty of these organizers is they can be used anywhere in the home. My daughter had gotten 2 of the 8 cube organizers and placed them together a few years ago. We had to buy more because the ones she used to have was now in her brother’s room.

The Bedroom

When we recently redid her room, she didn’t want the cube system anymore. So, I moved one of the 8 cubes into my room and turned it on its side instead of standing up tall. See below, I like how it turned out.

I styled it with a white and green pillow, giving it a warm and cozy feel! Use what you have if possible. I placed my Bible and devotional in one of the open cubes and a notebook. I wake up on this side of the room, and hope this note of encouragement “Trust Always” will brighten the day.

The cubes still have some items in them that are my daughters, but it is fine, you can’t see it, LOL!

The Dining Room

The other 8 cube I put in the dining room. I needed a place to put files and important papers so I placed it under the bulletin board where I post the kids special. I really like it there and it has helped me get things organized.
