The Next Town Over

Every year my hubby and I take off on our birthdays to celebrate together. This gives us that special quality time while the kids are in school without having to arrange someone to keep them for too long.

The next town over may be just the ticket! Are there places in your town or the next town over that you pass and or hear about it and think, I need to stop in, but it never happens?

That is us! If we want to go somewhere, we better put it on the list….write it down or you may forget it.

Breakfast is always a plus! We stopped at a little country restaurant and it was so tasty. We enjoyed coffee and even got a couple drinks to go. They had bottled drinks, so we treated ourselves to our favorite soft drink for the road.

A Sweet Bible Book Store

We stopped in a sweet little Bible bookstore that I have wanted to visit for years. It was just perfect in every way. They had a nice variety of cute, Christian encouragement cards with Bible verses inside. I grabbed a few to have on hand.

A boutique was right next door to this Christian bookstore. So unexpected, yet so loved! All the clothes were so great! A little pricey, but they had a clearance section. The prices were really good! They had a pair of jeans with stars on them and they were calling my name.

While shopping I was blessed to run into an old friend’s mom that I have not seen in years! What a great visit we had!

A Wonderful Wal-Mart

This next town over has a wonderful Wal-Mart! We decided to stop in for a few things we needed to pick up. Our daughter needed some flowers and they had some very pretty ones and a great variety. So happy we stopped.

We headed back home and ended the day at a favorite place for a quick bite! I could not be happier with the Birthday trip that me and my hubby took!

Sometimes the simplest things and the time spent together is worth so much more than material things. Yes, we all like gifts and there is nothing wrong with that. But, this day meant so much to me and I recommend you trying it!
