How To Step Out In Faith- Part 2

At the time my husband and I decided to step out in faith, change jobs, and be with our family more, it was a huge step of faith! Read part 1 of 2 here – How To Step Out In Faith? We prayed for jobs with better hours and God answered our prayers. Again, the pay was ALOT less, it was an annual income for some, less!

Other issues that we had to work out. First, my new job did not offer health insurance. Second, my husband needed a vehicle. The previous employer had provided a company truck and that was now gone. God makes a way!

I Needed Insurance

Guess what? My new job did not offer insurance. Can you believe it? It was a new organization and only offered vacation days along with the flexible schedule. Trusting in the Lord, I began to look for an insurance option. I remembered a good friend had told me about an insurance she had being self employed. It was samaritanministries.org. This was an affordable alternative to insurance and I got it. God made a way!

How to Step Out In Faith- Part 2- I Think God Was Testing Me

The first year of not having any traditional insurance, guess how many times I went to the doctor? Zero times! I think God was testing me to see if I would trust Him. Guess what else? After the first year of being at my new job, I was able to propose to the Board of Directors a complete benefit package for my position. This provided better pay, insurance, dental and retirement. All the bells and whistles, isn’t that amazing!

We Needed a Vehicle

Adding to the adventure, my husband needed a vehicle. Can I say, how in the world is this going to work, Lord? We were making less money and needed a truck. We had to figure out how to get a decent, reliable vehicle and try to make the budget work. I was a banker and knew how to get creative with financing. God showed me how to do it. At the time, my vehicle had a loan on it. Thankfully, it did have equity! So, we decided to refinance. We amortized the loan for the longest term possible. This kept the payment from going up too much. God made a way!

The Vehicle Purchased

The vehicle my husband purchased was an older Toyota 4Runner. Having some mileage on it, we still felt good about this vehicle. Over the years the family fell in love with it! We could hop in and go anywhere. Some Sunday’s after church, we would take rides. We would go through the woods on old trails and explore God’s beautiful creations. Having lots of fun! After having it about 6 years, my husband wanted to get a truck. We decided to sell the 4Runner to a friend. It was a very emotional day! After we got a new to us truck, it was just beautiful. But, guess what? We miss the 4Runner! Sometimes the oldies are the goodies.

How to Step Out In Faith- Part 2- Is God Calling You In A Different Direction?

Are you reading this post and you just know that God is calling you in a different direction? Are you thinking it will never happen? Please know that with Him, it can! If He can do it for us, He can do it for you! This was the biggest FAITH step I have ever taken. Being humbled by the fact that He called us to a different way of life. We stepped out in faith and He made the way. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13 KJV

Prayer

Dear Jesus, I pray with all my heart for the person reading this post that they seek to know Your perfect plan for their life. I pray they know You, I pray they will follow You and the very best that You have in store for them. God, I cannot thank You enough for what You did for me and my family. There is no explanation, only by faith in You and You making a way! I pray that You will show each one and speak to their heart if You are calling them to a different way of life that provides more family time. Thank you Jesus for what You are going to do for those that are willing! Please help them to step out in the biggest step of faith ever, with You Jesus! Amen.
